All of our important data is saved on disk, and when we go into Windows Disk Manager, we find that the disk is displayed as "dynamic disk is invalid", then the data on this disk cannot be read.
Invalid disk Dynamics Some friends show that dynamic disk is invalid after replacing the chassis or replacing the computer accessories in the chassis;
Some friends use the mobile disk, the mobile hard disk inserted into other computers, can not display the data on the mobile hard disk, found that the hard drive appears to be invalid;
When the hard drive is inserted into the hard disk cartridge, the disk display dynamic disk is invalid when the hard drive is unplugged from the hard disk box and inserted back into the chassis;
After the dual system is installed, the disk is displayed correctly under one system and the dynamic disk is not available under another system.
A hard disk we may be in use by ourselves inadvertently or as necessary to the hard drive from the basic disk to the dynamic disk, dynamic Disk Management data in the same way as the basic disk is completely different. Basic disks use partitioned tables to manage partitions, but partitioned tables are well supported by many vendors, and the basic disks are very extensive and compatible, not only with Windows support, but also Linux, Mac Systems, and even Android, Many devices, such as music players, use memory cards that support the storage management of basic disks. Then the dynamic disk is not the same, and its use of the surface is relatively narrow, compatibility is not very strong. So, compared to basic disks, dynamic disks are more prone to problems.
Invalid dynamic Disk Two key reasons we can understand two important reasons why dynamic disks become invalid:
1. The individual versions of Microsoft's operating system do not support dynamic disks, such as Windows 7/8 Home editions and Windows XP Home editions, and this time the Disk Manager displays the prompt for "dynamic disk invalidation" under these operating systems. Specifically, my system is the flagship of Windows 7, which supports dynamic disks, and then I convert my hard disk to a dynamic disk under this system. Then I install a Windows 8 home version on my second basic disk to build a dual system, but because the home version does not support dynamic disks, so when you enter the WIN8 system's Disk Manager, it will show "dynamic disk Invalid" prompts.
2. Part of dynamic disk information is stored in the registry, when you add a dynamic disk to another computer, you must first import dynamic disk information into the system's registry by using the Import dynamic Disk feature in Windows Disk Manager because the computer's registry does not record information about the dynamic disk. , and also writes information about the system to the dynamic disk as it is imported, marking that the disk has already been imported. But in this information import process, because the information of each system is not necessarily compatible, it is prone to problems (note: Basic disks do not need to be imported), so that dynamic disks become invalid states.
How to troubleshoot dynamic disk invalidation if the dynamic disk has become invalid, there are usually two ways to fix it:
The first option is to use an operating system that supports dynamic disks, such as upgrading the Windows Home Edition to a Professional edition, i.e. do not use dynamic disks in a home version of the system;
The second way: In fact, this problem and a good solution, basically can not fix the problem, at least the market is not yet such software. So we can only find a way to retrieve the data from the invalid disk and turn the disk into a valid state. The first way to retrieve the data is to use the data recovery software directly, which is usually time-consuming because you want to scan the entire disk. Then there is another way to convert this dynamic disk on the basic disk, if there is important data on the disk, here you must be careful not to use Windows Disk Manager to convert to a basic disk, because the disk becomes empty after conversion, and the data on the disk is lost. So how to transform dynamic disk to basic disk without lossless data becomes an important problem. Currently, the free tool developed by the company: "Dynamic Disk Converter" can be used specifically to solve this lossless data conversion problem. The following figure is an operating interface:
This tool is used in a wizard-style and is simpler to use. If you are using dynamic disk converters, some dynamic volumes such as RAID5 volumes, which cannot be converted by spanned volumes, will remind you of this tool. In summary, you complete the conversion to a basic disk without your data being lost. After the conversion, you can access the data on your disk as usual, and the disk becomes active after conversion. More importantly, the conversion process is quick--3-10 seconds to complete.
