17. Delete the default mailbox database (recommended, but not required)
After we have completed the installation of two back-end MBX servers for Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, two system-built mailbox database files appear by default, with a random value for the name, and are not conducive to distinction and management from a future operational perspective. So we recommend that you remove these two default new mailbox databases and create a new mailbox database with a better name and a representative. Or that sentence, if you "wayward" feel that the name is very good, you can skip this step directly.
When the two default databases are deleted, we choose to delete the default database on the installed MBX-02 first , and then delete the default database on the first installed MBX-01. What is this for? Because the first mailbox database role installed in the system architecture is on a server that contains some special system and feature mailboxes that Exchange requires, these mailboxes are stored in the first default mail database that is created by the system itself.
In order to retain these specific mailboxes, we have the following ideas:
A) Delete the default mailbox on the second mailbox database first
b) Customizing the creation of a new mailbox database
c) Migrate a specific mailbox in the first default mailbox database to B) in the new database in step
See my previous blog http://horse87.blog.51cto.com/2633686/1614010 for specific steps in this step
d) Delete the first default mailbox database at a later stage
Here we take a step-by-step look at:
A) Delete the default mailbox on the second mailbox database first
Select the database file stored on the MBX-02 and click "Delete"

Select "Yes"
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/5B/17/wKioL1T_l6mTXSu0AAD-wcHV2sY193.jpg "width=" 644 "height=" 314 "/>
Select "OK"
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/5B/17/wKioL1T_l7DytuVRAAFoVyOtEY8353.jpg "width=" 644 "height=" 412 "/>
Finally, manually delete the entire default database folder
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/5B/17/wKioL1T_l7KBJ5VyAAF2I8-20uU705.jpg "width=" 644 "height=" 359 "/>
b) Customizing the creation of a new mailbox database
Create a new database file (number of databases and names to be created according to requirements), custom storage paths and log paths (it is recommended that database and log files be separated to different logical disk locations)
Note: Here the server address can be stored first on the MBX-01, and then after the database after the high-availability DAG replication, the same disk on the MBX-02 will be attached to generate an identical copy of the database file, to ensure the security of the data.
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/5B/17/wKioL1T_l7ThDkjZAAGqrP08c_Q425.jpg "width=" 639 "height=" 484 "/>
c) Migrate a specific mailbox in the first default mailbox database to B) in the new database in step
Open EMS, use command get-mailbox discovery* | New-moverequest–targetdatabase "New database name" moves existing mailboxes in the default database to the new target database.
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/5B/17/wKioL1T_l7bBIkdhAAJ8iaclNOk357.jpg "width=" 644 "height=" 422 "/>
Using Command get-mailbox–arbitration | New-moverequest–targetdatabase "New database name" moves all the quorum mailboxes to the new mailbox database.
and use the get-moverequest command to see if the migration is complete and the name of the database that is currently migrated to.
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/5B/17/wKioL1T_l7fTbP2CAAF0jRX4h18718.jpg "width=" 644 "height=" 314 "/>
See my previous blog http://horse87.blog.51cto.com/2633686/1614010 for specific steps in this step
d) Finally delete the first default mailbox database directly
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/5B/17/wKioL1T_l7ixNaPuAAEk0OPHkt0452.jpg "width=" 644 "height=" "/>"
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/5B/1D/wKiom1T_lpux4ck8AAEa5EnXTr8914.jpg "width=" 644 "height=" 441 "/>

650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/5B/1D/wKiom1T_lp-iXsCoAAJIUo79cTU094.jpg "width=" 641 "height=" 484 "/>
18. Configure Mailbox Database Properties
In the server-database, according to different databases for the classification of the population (some databases to the enterprise leaders, some to the department employees), configure the database personal mailbox corresponding size limit.
650) this.width=650; "title=" image "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;margin:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" image "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/5B/1D/wKiom1T_lqDDXdd6AAGFGTvlPq0139.jpg "width=" 644 "height=" 407 "/>
The specific meaning and operation of the "Keep deleted mailbox Age" option can be viewed in detail in my previous blog http://horse87.blog.51cto.com/2633686/1616557
The following specifies that the offline address book corresponding to each database download is default.
