1. Software Download

Download the above software on the official website: The names of the downloaded software are listed below, which are provided for reference to prevent download errors:

1. graphics card driver: Lenovo official website does not need to download the latest on the Nv official website (I think it is best to download the latest on the Nv homepage, find a graphics card driver suitable for your model, rather than on Cuda develop ):

2. cudatoolkit: Go to the website of the Nv Cuda developer. The downloaded name is cudatoolkit_4.0.17_win_32.msi.

3. cudasdk: Go to the website of the Nv Cuda developer. The downloaded name is gpucomputingsdk_4.0.17_win_32.exe.

4. nshght: this is also a free download from the Nv official website. The downloaded name is parallel_nsight_win32_2.0.11166.msi.

Ii. Software Installation

1. Install vs2008,

2. Install the video card driver -- cudatoolkit -- cudasdk -- nsight in sequence.

After completing the three steps, an NVIDIA option is generated in vs. You can directly create a Cuda project.

4. Cuda preparation is complete. You can write Cuda code.

 

V. Problems I encountered:

1. why can't the Nv graphics card driver be installed or installed successfully, but it cannot be used? Tip: You are not connected to the nvidia gpu display currently?

Because I am a Lenovo dual-graphics card switching machine, this is the main cause of this problem: the following provides a solution:

Enter the bios and change the value of the option "switchable" related to graphics to another option. You do not need to fill in the option by yourself. You can select the option as long as you select it.

2. when nsight is installed, do not install the software of kaiyong. I used to always remind me that I could not find "cutil32d. lib "and other Lib, nsight, there is no problem, but if you have installed kaiyong, it is possible to install nsight problems, be careful!
