1, first of all, we need to enter the Fedora Grub operating system boot interface, the general installation, the default is not to show the operating system options, after a few seconds directly starting the operating system, so we need to start the system, use any key to enter the boot menu item, as shown in the following figure.
2, in the access to the operating system menu, select the operating system to reset the root password, and then press the "E" key to edit the startup item.
3, after entering the Edit Item menu, select the startup command line to edit, as shown in the following figure, you need to select the Start command line with the word "kernel/vmlinuz" and press "E" to enter the editing interface.
4, after entering the editing interface, use the left and right key to the cursor to "RHGB quiet" characters such as the front, enter "single" plus space, or enter "1" plus space, finished press ENTER, you can, return to the previous step to start the command line menu.
5, return to the command line Startup menu, press "B" key, you can start the operating system in Single-user mode. After the operating system starts, it goes directly into Single-user mode and does not need to enter any login password. We can then use the "passwd" command to reset the root password.
6, set the password, enter "reboot" command restart the computer is done. In contrast, the following figure shows the effect of "1" when you enter the "4" step above.
Note: It is recommended that you use Linux often use root permissions, otherwise the root password is easy to forget. This experience uses FEDORA9, which is also applicable to other releases of Fedora.
