1. Product Version
ArcGIS for Server 10.2.2
2. Modification Instructions
In this environment, ArcGIS for portal and ArcGIS for server two products are installed on the same machine. The fully qualified domain name is defined in the Hosts file before installation. After the server installation is complete, you find that the self-signed certificate that is automatically created in the server uses the domain name defined in host.
Due to the need to modify the domain name used in the portal, the domain name definition in the Hosts file needs to be updated to the new domain name, which will cause the server to use the original domain name can not be accessed, there will be certificate authentication issues, so the machine name in the server needs to be modified to new, The self-signed certificate of the server also needs to be modified to be new.
3. Modification steps
(1) In Server Admin, open Machine-->rename and change the machine name to the new domain name.
(2) Open the newly defined machine name, use server certificate, import the certificate for the new domain name definition, enter the certificate key and alias. Note: The certificate format needs to be P12 or PFX, and if the certificate is using a Java version of Keytools generation, you can use a third-party tool to convert to P12 or PFX format.
(3) In security, reset the permissions authentication for portal hosting back to server.
(4) After restarting the server, use the new domain name address to access the server test.
(5) The Server federation server needs to be re-registered with the new address in the portal. The connection to the server in ArcMap also needs to be updated to the new address.
How do I modify the machine name of a server that is already registered as a portal federation server?
