Right-click the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop and select the Properties System Properties window from the pop-up menu to appear.
Click the Device Management tab.
Double-click CDROM drive to view the hard drive list.

Click the Settings tab.

Enable memory direct access in Windows XP
Log on to Windows as an administrator (or a user with Administrator privileges).
Click the Start button, then right-click My Computer and select Properties from the pop-up menu, and the System Properties window appears.
Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager, and the Device Manager window appears.
Double-click the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller to view the list of controllers.
Double-click the primary IDE channel and the main IDE channel Properties window appears.
Click the Advanced Settings tab.
Select DMA. If the item can be found from the list of transport modes in appliance 0.
Click "OK" you do not have to restart Windows.
