How Excel Specifies to open a folder

If you need to specify how to open a folder, you can set up an Excel application in the Excel table. And often it needs to be done by modifying the registry or by using a macro command. Now we're going to use the Modify registry to Excezhong specify open folder. We can specify the folder in which to open the file as follows:

1, click "Start → run", enter "regedit" command, open "Registry Editor", expand Hkey_current_usersoftwaremicrosoft office10.0commonopen Findplacesuserdefinedplaces, as shown in the picture:

2, after you find the new primary key below, name "MyDoc" and then create a new two "string values" in the primary key, named "Name" and "Path" respectively, "My Files" (optionally named) and "D:mypath" (the full path to the location folder), and close the Registry Editor, reboot the computer. When you do an open operation in Excel 2003 later, the item "My Files" is added to the left of the dialog box, and you can click on the item to enter the "D:mypath" folder.

3, restart the computer, open EXCEL2003 again, in the file select Open, we can see, open the dialog box to the left of the new "MyFile" item, click on the item, you can enter the "E:myfile" folder to select files.

Tip: When you create a new primary key in the registry, if your operating system is XP or Win7, then create a new "key", Win2000 the old version before the new "primary key".
