How to back up a hardware profile to resolve startup failures

For the vast number of hands-on friends, the computer hardware will often replace, modify, and so on, it is likely to cause the system will not start properly or abnormal operation. "Hardware Profiles" can instruct the system to load the correct driver when the hardware changes, so we can use the hardware profile to restore the previous hardware configuration.

For example, some older applications (especially older games) do not support dual-core CPUs and can go to the "system BIOS" to shut down a core, allowing the program to function in a single core. When you need to re-enable dual cores in the future, you can boot the system with the hardware profile of the dual core runtime that you previously backed up. It is recommended that you back up your hardware profile every time you install or modify your hardware, and you can easily resolve many of the system startup issues that are caused by your hardware configuration.

The steps to backup are as follows:

Right-click My Computer, choose Properties from the shortcut menu that pops up, open the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, click the Hardware Profile button in the window that appears, open the Hardware Profile dialog box, and in the available hardware profiles The list shows the list of hardware profiles available on the local computer, in the hardware profile selection area, select a hardware profile to invoke at system startup, to back up the file, click the Copy button, enter a new file name in the To File box in the Copy Profile dialog box that opens, Then click the OK button.
