How to back up My documents before reloading the system

Many users are accustomed to putting their own files in My Documents, and by default My Documents are stored on the system disk, so backing up My Documents is a must before reloading the system.

For the specifics of My Documents, XP took into account at the beginning of design, so it's much easier to back up my documents than to back up other information.

Right-click My Documents to select Properties and change the target folder location to other partitions, such as e:mydocuments, in the My Document Properties dialog box that pops up. You do not need to copy files from My Documents to a new folder before you operate. When you click the OK button, the Move document prompt box pops up, and clicking Yes automatically copies the contents of the original My Documents to the new location so that the backup work for My Documents is complete, as shown in the figure.

Tip: If you click the No button, the files in My Documents are not copied to the destination folder.

Recovery method:

When you reload the Ghost XP SP3 system, the My Documents location is changed to the system defaults. Once again, right-click My Documents select Properties, set target folder location as the folder at backup time, and click the No button in the Pop-up Move Document dialog box after clicking OK.
