The author's environment is a small local area network of 30 machines, which uses Windows Server and workstations for Windows Pro and Windows XP. The company is using ADSL broadband, and in the sharing mode of choice for the current popular broadband routing. In the setup, the workstation is set up, that is, the gateway address is the IP address of the router, DNS is set up in the local telecommunications DNS address, after this setting, I see everyone can be normal internet, but also a sigh of relief.
But in the use of a period of time to find the problem, that is, workstation login when the user name and password, login network speed is very slow, slow people can not tolerate, and if the router is closed, then more slowly. The author's first feeling is the DNS problem, because Windows 2000 in the start of the choice of domain controller is based on DNS to find, according to this idea I will change the workstation DNS domain controller IP address, speed is very fast, but this brings a new problem, That is, if changed to the domain controller address, that can only open the home page of the intranet and hit the homepage of the net, the prompt can not open the search page, in fact, is unable to resolve.
After the author's groping, found that can be used in this way to solve the problem: The DNS server for IP forwarding, the principle is that if the current DNS server can not resolve the domain name, it will forward this to a higher level of the DNS server, request it for resolution. To do this, open the DNS console, right-click the DNS server object, click Properties, click Forwarders Options, enter the IP address of the local telecommunications DNS server in the IP address box, and click Add (before this ensures that the DNS server's gateway is set to the router's IP address), This will solve the problem of slow startup and Internet.
Note: Here is a problem, that is, some people's machine transponder is a gray, then please go to the DNS Management console, and then expand the server in front of the + number, will be marked with a period (.) to delete the area.
Later I remember that a lot of people are more confused about a problem, that is, you set up a Web site, how can you guarantee both the intranet and the extranet? I think using DNS forwarding should also be able to solve the problem!
