How to configure a wireless router? Dormitory wireless router configuration method

The network has already entered thousands of households and has become a common configuration. In the same way, wireless networks are available almost everywhere, and the networks have completely integrated into our lives. With the prevalence of wireless access devices such as smartphones and tablets, configuring a home wireless network naturally becomes a skill that everyone needs to learn.

The school dormitory is no exception. Similarly, the wireless network configuration of the dormitory may need to consider more aspects. At home, you can simply create a home wireless device based on the guidance of the wireless router, but the dormitory is different.

Suppose there are four people in a dormitory, one of whom uses wired broadband and can access the Internet through a vro. They will share the network with the mobile phone tablet of the whole dormitory (if the signal is strong enough, can also be received from the dormitory ).

However, when there are too many users, it will naturally take up my normal use. How can we ensure that other people can access the network without affecting my bandwidth?

In fact, you only need to use the "IP bandwidth control" item in the vro settings and the "static IP address reservation for DHCP servers" function to easily achieve this. Almost mainstream wireless routers on the market will be equipped with this function. After the configuration, you can ensure that your personal Internet access device has a certain amount of bandwidth, and you can allocate a part of the bandwidth to others to access wireless devices.

The tutorial is as follows:

1. Open the browser and access 192.168.1.1 (some routers are 192.168.0.1). The default account name and password are admin.

2. Follow the "Setup Wizard" to complete the settings. (skip this step if you are already on the Internet)

3. Select "DHCP server"-"retain static address" to bind the MAC address of your device to an IP address (as shown in the figure below)

4. Go to "IP bandwidth control". If it is not an ADSL network, select "other lines" and enter your bandwidth value. Next, select "Add new entry", as shown in the figure below. If IP address: 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.102 is your computer, mobile phone, or tablet, you can enter a value greater than the upper limit, the lower limit should not be too low, depending on your choice.

If IP address: 192.168.1.103-192.168.104 is the mobile phone devices of all roommates, the normal Internet access speed can be met.

The default rate of the remaining IP segments is very low, which can be used by other unfamiliar devices to connect. Generally, this speed cannot be used, and the connection will be abandoned.

The above configuration satisfies the bandwidth of the fixed internet access device in the dormitory, and avoids the embarrassment of others asking for the wireless password.
