There are two ways you can install multiple sites in the same system, such as: bbs.alixixi.com, and www.alixixi.com assign different IP addresses to different sites, or configure different host headers for different sites. If your server has multiple IP addresses, you can differentiate sites by assigning different IP addresses to different sites, if your server has only one IP address, or if you do not want to assign different IP addresses to different sites, you can differentiate them by setting different host headers for different sites. The following steps take Windows Server as an example.
Assigning different IP addresses to different sites
1. Open IIS Service Manager
2. Right-click on the specified Site node, select Properties
3. Go to the Web site page, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the IP address, and select the IP address of your Web site
Set different host headers for different sites
1. Open IIS Service Manager
2. Right-click on the specified Site node, select Properties
3. Enter the WEB Site page, click the Advanced button on the right side of IP address
4. Press the "Add" button in the "Advanced Multiple Web Site Configuration" dialog box that pops up
5. Finally, in the "Advanced Web Site Identification" pop-up, fill in the port used by the site (typically 80) and the host header
