Using access to create MDB files is a simple problem. However, if the access program is not installed on the Windows XP Server, how does one create an MDB file and obtain the required data? This problem is very practical. I encountered it in the project development in the previous section. At that time, the manager arranged to migrate the database from SQL Server to access. Of course, there was no problem with the company environment, I took the job home and found that the access component I used was not installed on the home machine. I tried to catch up with the progress. I got this article as a memo and shared it with you.

This article will take a long time and there will be many diagrams. The content arrangement is to first introduce how to create an MDB file without installing the access program, next, we will introduce how to import data from SQL Server to access and view the import results.

How can I create an MDB file without installing the access program?

1. Go to "ODBC data source Manager" through "Control Panel" ----> "Management Tools" ----> "Data Source (ODBC ", in the "user DSN" column, select "add" to add a user data source.

2. Select the data source driver: Microsoft Access Driver (*. mdb)

3. Create an MDB file. In this step, select the create button to locate the storage location of the MDB file.

4. Configure the data source and enter the data Name and description

5. Click "OK.

8. The "DTS import/export wizard" execution result is displayed.

View import results

To view the data table records imported to access, simply execute one of "Import tables from SQL Server to access ~ Five steps:

Select"All tasks"---->"Import data"

Select the settings in the third step, and then change it to the second step.

Select Settings in step 2, and then change to step 3.

Step 4: The settings remain unchanged

In step 5, select a data table name and select preview. For more information, see

From the view results, there is no discrepancy in the data itself, but there are discrepancies in the data type. The changes to the data type must be performed using the database table operation, which is not described here.
