In this example, the 3D effect command is used to create a 3D model and apply the designed image to the model surface to intuitively express the effect of the packaging design. As shown in Figure 1.

1> create and edit a hybrid object
2> use 3D effects to create 3D images
3. Create a case
1> run the file/new command. In the displayed new document dialog box, name the document, specify the size as A4, set the color mode to CMYK, and set the grid effect to 300ppi. Click OK to create a document. See Figure 2.

2. Create a shape based on the packaging structure design and size. Use the rectangle tool

Create multiple rectangular objects and use the group selection tool.

Combine them into a flat expansion chart. See Figure 3.

3> use the selection tool

Select all rectangular objects, execute the selection/object/direction handle, and execute the edit/copy and edit/paste commands. In the copied copy, the path is separated by node, and the direct selection tool is used.

Select a line segment and set it to a dotted line in the stroke panel, as shown in figure 4.

5> Create a wrap side image. Set no stroke for the rectangular object on the side of the package, and fill in the colors R54, G58, and B149. Use the art knife tool

, Press and hold the Alt key to split the rectangular object with a straight line path, as shown in figure 6. Select the right image after the split, and set the colors to R190, G213, and B202. The effect is shown in figure 6.

6> use the rectangle tool

Create two rectangle objects of the same size, and edit the fill color and position, as shown in Figure 7. Select two rectangular objects, execute the object/hybrid/create command, double-click the hybrid tool, and set the number of steps to 3 in the hybrid options dialog box. The effect is shown in Figure 7.

Press and hold the Alt key and drag it to the left to edit the copy position. Use the group selection tool.

Select the lower rectangle object copied from the hybrid object separately and edit it to R54, G58, and B149. As shown in figure 8. Copy a blue rectangle object and stack it on the edited hybrid object. Select both the blue rectangle object and the hybrid object and execute the object/cut mask/create command, the effect is shown in figure 8.

10> select a rectangular object as the top surface of the box and copy it. Retain the selection of rectangular objects and execute the effect/3D/protruding and diagonal commands. In the 3D protruding and diagonal Options dialog box, set the position to off-axis-front, set the perspective angle to 25 °, the protruding thickness to PT, and select the plastic effect shading on the surface. As shown in Figure 12.

Combine the two boxes and add the shadow and background, as shown in Figure 1. This completes the creation of this example.

4. Summary
In this case, we are studying the decoration design of a packaging box that is widely used. First, we need to draw the expansion diagram of the box according to the structure design to determine the front and side areas of the box. Then, we need to design and determine the packaging style based on the characteristics of the packaging product, and design the various images one by one. It usually contains the product name, product image, performance introduction, and so on.
In terms of AI technology, this example uses a hybrid object to create a decorative image. You can edit the position, fill color, and opacity of the initial object in the hybrid object to present a rich and changing appearance. Using the effects/3D/protruding and diagonal commands allows us to easily create a 3D view of the box, and then edit the perspective angle and texture of the 3D object, display the packaging design in a realistic manner.
All right, the above information is the detailed tutorial for creating beautiful and realistic packaging box effects for the users of this software of Illustrator, users now see this. I believe that you are very clear about the production method, so you can draw a realistic packaging box by yourself according to the small series tutorial.
