When you make a datasheet using Excel, you often enter fractions. For example, in some stock market quotes, you use fractions rather than decimals to display data. Many friends in the input points will encounter such a problem, such as the input of the score but automatically become a date and so on. This article will help you solve such problems.

Tips A

When Excel enters a score, enter the integer, then add a space, and then enter a fraction (slash, for example, 5/8), in this way, you can create a stock quote table as shown in Figure 1.

Skill Two

Question: If you just want to enter 5/8, there is no integer in front, the input is complete, once the car, you will find the score becomes the date (i.e. May 8). This is certainly not the result we want to see. How do you avoid this?

Workaround: First enter 0, then enter a space, and then enter the score.

Skill Three

Question: If you want to enter a 4/16, according to the technique of the second method of input after the completion of the car, you will find that the score becomes 1/4. This is because Excel automatically applies a fractional format that minimizes the numerator denominator in fractions.

Workaround: Select the cell where you want to enter the score, select menu command Format > cell, open the Format Cells dialog box, select Score in the Category list on the Number tab, and then select the denominator in 16 from the Type column on the right, as shown in Figure 2. When you click OK, you will see that 1/4 becomes 4/16.

Figure 2

For example, in the worksheet shown in Figure 1, we can get the results shown in Figure 3 by selecting the C2 to C13 cell once and changing its fractional format to the denominator of 16.
