What is a language file?
Almost every application on your Mac contains more than 10 specific language files, and if you don't need those language files, these files will only waste Mac space and we can safely remove them from your Mac.
How do I manually clear the unnecessary Mac language files?
The language files are saved in the app package content installed on Apple. Right click on the program select "Show Package Content", in the "contents/resources" directory will see a lot. iproj files, the names of these language files may be abbreviated, for example, ZH_CN. Iproj is the Simplified Chinese Language pack, ZH_TW. Iproj is the traditional Chinese language pack and so on.

In most cases, you can clean up language files that you don't know or use, and we can find and clean them manually, but there's a much simpler way!
How do I automatically delete additional Mac language files?
To remove the language files for your application, you can use the Mac Cleanup Tool Cleanmymac, which is simpler and more secure than manual, just download the Cleanmymac Chinese version, launch the software, select "Smart Cleanup", then click "Scan".
After the scan is over, click "Clean", which will automatically clean up all the junk in your Mac, including unnecessary language files in your system and applications.

Or you can use the system garbage cleanup module, after the scan is finished, click "View Details", if only need to clean up the language files, then you can uncheck all, only check the "language file" type.
This way, click "Clean" to completely delete the language files, to free up more space!
How to delete a Mac language file
