Introduction
Rational performance Tester is generally used to test the performance of the system, can test the system at a certain time can be hosted at the same number of users, testing a period of time the system can support how many users to operate, test the system for a period of time performance changes and so on. But in addition to this general feature, we have discovered that the Rational performance Tester also has other powerful features---monitor. This paper takes a typical WEB project based on Java EE as an example, introduces how to use Rational performance Tester to detect system State, and then achieve the purpose of monitoring system State with the help of RPT.
Recording a test scenario
Before using the Rational performance Tester monitoring System, the user scene should be recorded for later RPT to simulate the user operation, and then to test the state of the system.

Here's how to create a new project and create a new test in RPT, and how to modify test after the recording.
New Project
First, introduce the steps to create a new project: File--> new-->performance Test project, as shown in the following illustration:
Figure 2. New Test Project
After you enter project name, click Finish to complete the new project.
New test
The next step is to introduce the new test: File--> new-->new test from recording, as shown in the following illustration:

Click Next, select the path where you want the test to be stored, and then enter the File Name of test:
