How to update the guest agent and driver for the Rhev platform

First, update the GUEST agent and driver on RED HAT ENTERPRISE LINUX

Upgrade the guest agent and driver on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual machine to the latest version.

The Guest tool program includes software that communicates with the Red Hat Enterprise virtualization Manager and the virtual machine it manages, providing the manager with information about the virtual machines it manages (such as IP address, memory usage, security on virtual machines, Installed software). These utilities are packaged as RPM files and attached to the virtual machine as an ISO file. Users can use this ISO file for installation and upgrade through Red Hat Enterprise virtualization Manager.

To update the guest agent and driver methods on Windows:

2. Update Red Hat Enterprise virtualization Guest Tools to the latest version on Red Hat Enterprise virtualization Manager:

   # yum Update-y rhev-guest-tools-iso*

3. Upload the ISO file to the ISO domain and replace [Isodomain]with the name of your ISO domain:

   Engine-iso-uploader--iso-domain=[isodomain] Upload/usr/share/rhev-guest-tools-iso/rhev-tools-setup.iso

   Attention

   rhev-tools-setup.isoThe file is a link to the latest ISO file. This link will automatically connect to the latest ISO file each time the Rhev-guest-tools-iso package is upgraded.

4. In the management portal or user portal, if the virtual machine is running, use theReplace CDbutton to bring up the latestrhev-tools-setup.isoThe files are added to each virtual machine. If the virtual machine is turned off, theControl DeskRight click on the button, selectrun only one timeoption to add the ISO as a CD to the virtual machine.

6. Select the CD drive that includes the latest ISO and run the RHEV-ToolsSetup.exe file.
