Tutorial sharing:
If you have a certain understanding of the vector graphics software, you must know that Illustrator does not have a paging bar (for example, Figure 1) at the bottom of the bar of the typographical software interface such as coredraw or pagemaker ), but this does not mean that Illustrator cannot create pages!

Generally, we do not need to consider the canvas area or the page collage area. Choose View> hide canvas to hide the canvas line. Select View> hide page tile to hide the dotted line of the page tile. (Figure 4)

Choose File> text block settings or press Ctrl + Alt + P to open the text block settings panel (figure 5 ).

① Select the size of the custom canvas area.
② Fill in the "four open" size 44 cm × 59 cm, and define the direction as vertical.
③ Click "complete collage page ".
The page shown in Figure 6 is reduced to 35%. We can see four page areas and the page number characters in the lower left corner of each page.

1. If Figure 6 does not appear in your workspace, check whether the dotted line of your collage is located at the edge of the canvas. No. Select the collage tool to move the dotted line of the tile to the edges of the canvas, as shown in figure 6.
2. If Figure 6 still does not appear, open the text block and set the panel version Ctrl + Alt + P (Figure 9) and select the letter option. Because the size of the canvas must meet the size of the four editions to be correctly displayed.

In this case, press Ctrl + Alt + P to enable the text block setting area and change the tile option to the area where the collage is printed. This is shown in figure 8. Now we can see that the white area is also divided and the page number is marked.

Choose File> print settings or press Ctrl + Shift + P to Envelope C5, the size of the page collage is changed (Figure 10 ).

Tip: the text block settings are different from the print settings. If you change one, you need to update the other.
We can see that the area size in Figure 12 is uneven. What is the purpose of this incomplete page collage? Often engaged in printing friends will understand that the printing of the open type is fixed (2 open, 4 open, etc.), and sometimes we will design special size works, to achieve the perfect effect, or a visual need. Because Relen is installed with MultiPage for Adobe Illustrator 9, it may not be as powerful as the version introduced on its website. But we can still see how it works.
Skip how to install this plug-in (you can view other Relen work diaries ). Restart Illustrator and choose window> Show MultiPage to open the MultiPage. After placing a work with four layers, we can see that the number of pages in the MultiPage is equal to that in the layer tree. (Figure 13)

After clicking Page 3, we found that in the layer control panel, except Layer 3, the display of other layers is disabled. Only images in Layer 3 are displayed. (Figure 14) we can see that the pagination function of this MultiPage is implemented based on layers. If you need this function in your work, you can find the MultiPage installation in version 9. Relen has been tested.

As shown in Figure 16, three more layers are added to the layer panel: Left Master page and Right Master Page, which are Left-side control (zoomed layer ), control on the right side (add layer ). In addition, area 6 of MultiPage is activated. (Figure 17)
As shown in Figure 17, when we select the second page in the MultiPage area, it belongs to the left page, and the layer area shows two layers. One is the layer pointed to by the second page, the content is the skeleton of the bird. The second is Left Muster Page control layer. If it is displayed, a red box is displayed, and the number of pages is displayed. The number of pages varies with the value in the MultiPage. If you do not want to Use this function, you can turn off the Use page Number in the Master (page control) option in Figure 16.

Tip: When installing this plug-in and loading multi-layer illustrations, only the first page of content is displayed, that is, the first layer. Relen is very disgusted with this function.

When printing, select the menu: File> Print Multiple Pages, select the page number to the page number, and click Print. The Print setting panel is displayed, and you can Print it again :)
