How to improve work efficiency in 25 minutes

When you work, you often feel that the afternoon has not even done anything, it is already late evening.

If you and many of the professionals interviewed recently in a study conducted by Harvard Business School (Harvard Business School) on daily work, this should happen to you often.

This inefficiency not only lowers the project success rate of your team and organization, but also threatens you.

We find that nothing is more pleasing and more energetic than making meaningful progress on the things we care about. We call this the principle of progress. But there is another side to the principle of progress: there is nothing more frustrating than stalled work, and the negative effects are much greater than the positive ones.

The most common reason for inefficiency is that time is pieces-trying to balance conflicting and often unexpected time demands. This is the case when you are frantically immersed in your daily experience and still feel inefficient. It sounds familiar.

Working time management expert Tony Schwartz, David Allen and others have some useful tips to help you build a Schwartz work habit. So if you don't have time to do the most important work, how can you fix it?

1, set aside time blank file. (20 minutes) if possible, draw the rest of the day's work from the schedule to make sure that you have 20 minutes to stay undisturbed and devote yourself to the meaningful work. If you can do it, it's better to set aside more time, but 20 minutes is enough to make a difference in productivity.

If it's not, then take the unimportant meeting 20 minutes ahead of schedule or add 20 minutes to the class. (If you have an emergency business call, you can use this tactic, right?) To do the most important work is an urgent task. Cut email, turn off the phone, and go to a room where no one can find you.

2, Mark out the work of the day progress. (2 minutes) record the progress of your day with your work diary.

It's natural to concentrate on the work you haven't done and the rest of the work. But in order to improve your happiness and effort, you should spend a minute recording the work you've done. Even if you are just outlining the next steps of a creative project, you should also write it down. If you can set aside 20 minutes of space, write down your accomplishments on that day, no matter how small. This may not be the work you plan to do, it may be a problem for other people, but if you do a useful job and have real progress, write it down.

Let yourself enjoy a sense of accomplishment and realize that you are making a difference.

3, for tomorrow to continue to prepare for work. (3 minutes) using Ernest Hemingway (Ernest Hemingway) and other writers ' tips: Stop when you are halfway through. When you have to stop the most important work and stop at the halfway point, then it's good if you know how to do the rest of the work. In this way, you can quickly get into work the next day, even if you get a 20-minute slot the next day.
