We can install multiple network adapters in the server to solve the problem. In this way, the server not only work stably, the workstation network speed will be greatly improved, and if a workstation failure, will only affect the workstation with a network of those workstations, the use of other network card workstation is not affected. This article takes an example of installing 3 network cards on a NetWare server.
Installation and Setup
Ready to install the network card (the best model is the same, different also, but must be compatible with NE2000), first put a network card into the server, and then open the server, In the DOS state run with the card with the NIC Diagnostics Diag9008.exe, in the dialog box that appears, the diagnostics will tell us the default I/O address of the network card is 300H, interrupt int=3h. Select Configure the network card option, the NIC's I/O address to 340H, break to int=5h, and then save the configuration, back to the DOS state, shutdown.
Plug the second NIC into the server, reboot, imitate the above method, the second network card I/O address to 320H, break to int=4h, save configuration, back to Dos and shutdown.
Finally insert the third card into the server, after running diagnostics, the diagnostics will tell us that there are three network cards on the server, and the third network card's I/O address is 300H, interrupt int=3h (this is the default value of the network card, do not change), save the configuration and return to the DOS system, the NIC is installed successfully.
Configuring NetWare
Nic installed, but also in the NetWare system in the driver of the network card to be used, the practice is: Start the server, in the colon ":" Prompt to execute the load install command, select the System Options option, and then select Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF option, change the contents of the AUTOEXEC.NCF file to:
