2. Press "browse" to select the storage directory of the virtual machine under XP. The default directory is C: / Documents and Settings / My Documents / My Virtual Machines / Red Hat Linux, but I think it is best not to be on the C drive with XP. In addition, the disk where the virtual machine directory is located must have sufficient space, because the installed RED HAT 9 itself has nearly 1.8G. Select the default here. After setting the virtual machine directory, click "Next";

Third, install redhat linux 9 on the virtual machine

A) To install using linux text installation, fast and stable.
B) Select "Server" or "Workstation" as the installation type.
C) Generic-3 Button Mouse (PS / 2) when the mouse is selected. If it is a wheel with a wheel, select the Generic Wheel Mouse (PS / 2). (This is very important, especially for the case of using a USB mouse in the main operating system).
d) There is a disk error during the installation. Do not worry about the partition table error. These are simulated disks of the virtual machine and will not damage your physical hard disk. Select “Auto Partition” as the partition.
e) Remember to install VMware tools.
2. The installation process is just like you install on a physical machine.
3． The disk replacement during the installation process is also like the actual installation. The disk will automatically pop up. Replace the disk and press "OK" to continue the installation. (Not as complicated as the Internet says: Clicking the CD-ROM drive icon in the status bar ... etc.)
Install VMware tools
1.Enter LINUX as ROOT
2. Press the CTRL + ALT key combination to enter the main operating system, and click "Install Virtual Machine Tools" under "Virtual (VM)".
3. The CD-ROM drive (vm virtual CD-ROM drive) will be automatically mounted in Linux. Only one file is vmware-linux-tools.tar.gz. (Here it is not as troublesome as the Internet says it needs to mount itself).
4. Click the LINUX interface with your mouse to enter LINUX.
Cp /mnt/vmware-linux-tools.tar.gz / tmp
拷贝 Copy the package to the TMP directory of LINUX.
Cd / tmp
Enter the TMP directory
Tar zxf vmware-linux-tools.tar.gz
Unzip the package, and decompress it to the vmware-linux-tools directory by default (same name as the file name).

./Install.pl Runs the installation command.
