How to install wordpress plug-ins

First: Search for installation in the background

Applicable to those plug-ins that have been included in the wordpress official plug-in Directory (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins), is also a more common method,

Click install plug-in the sub-menu under plug-in. By default, the plug-in installation function is searched, as shown in the figure:

Enter the name of the plug-in to be installed in the search box, and then click the search plug-in button. The matching plug-in results are automatically displayed in the background, you only need to find the plug-in you need to install, and then click "Install now" under the plug-in. The background will automatically download and install the plug-in for you. The installation is complete, you also need to click the enable plug-in button, so that the wordpress plug-in is directly installed in the background.

Type 2: background Upload and installation

This method is applicable when the plugin is not included in the official wordpress Plugin directory.

Then, log on to the wordpress background,

Next, click install plug-in under the sub-menu under plug-in menu, and then click upload, as shown in the figure:

Click Select file to find the plug-in to be installed, and click Install Now. Then, the wordpress background automatically installs the plug-in. Finally, click enable plug-in ], this completes the background Upload and installation of the wordpress plug-in.

Ps: some plug-ins need some simple settings after installation. You can click the sub-menu "installed plug-ins" under the "plug-ins" menu to find the plug-in, click Settings to set the plug-in function.

Note:

If an error occurs when you click enable plug-in after uploading the plug-in, the possible cause is:

1. The version of this plug-in is not compatible with the current version of the wordpress website builder;

2. The directory structure of the compressed file of the plug-in is incorrect: the normal directory structure of the compressed file of the plug-in is [plug-in name> plug-in file], and cannot be [plug-in name> plug-in file ].

Third: ftp tool Upload and installation

This method is applicable when the plug-in cannot be installed using the above two methods,

For example, it is recommended that you install the plug-in the order of 1, 2, and 3. After all, the first method is the most convenient and easy to use, so as to decrease the number.

First, open the ftp tool and connect to the website server. Find the location in the root directory folder:

/Wp-content/plugins/

This [plugins] folder stores the plug-ins, and then uploads the plug-ins to be installed through the ftp tool. For help, refer to the article "How to use ftp Tutorial?".

After the upload is complete, log on to the wordpress background,

Click plug-in> installed plug-in under the sub-menu under plug-in, find the plug-in, and click Enable to complete the installation.

If the plug-in has other Settings functions, you can see the Settings button. Click Settings to set the functions of the plug-in.
