If a user wants to create a link in a Word 2010 document that links to parts of other files, rather than linking to the entire file, you can use the Paste-only feature. To link some of the data in an Excel table as an example, the following steps are described:
Step 1th, open the Excel table window, select the data you want to create a link to, and perform the copy operation.
Step 2nd, open the Word 2010 document window, click the Paste Drop-down button in the Clipboard group in the Start Ribbon, and select paste selective from the Open Drop-down menu, as shown in Figure 2011081801.

Step 3rd, open the Paste Selective dialog box, select the Microsoft Excel 2003 Worksheet Object option in the form list, select the Paste Link check box, and click OK, as shown in Figure 2011081802.

Return to the Word 2010 document window to view some of the Excel table data that is pasted as a link into a Word document. Double-click the object to open an Excel table window to edit it.
