Problem: The FOV of the camera in Unity and the angle of view of the camera in Maya even if set to the same value, the results are very different because of the preview: the FoV of Unity camera is
Vertical FOVThe angle of Maya camera angle of view isthe angle of the
horizontal FOV
WorkaroundMake sure the aspect ratio in Maya and unity are consistent, and then convert the FOV or angle of View that each should use by the aspect ratio.
For example, set up in the following way to achieve the same settings on both sides exactly as in unity:
- Field of View:45
- Aspecratio:4/3
Camera settings in Maya:
- Angle of View:60
- Aspecratio:4/3
Different aspect ratio screens fit our game with different aspect ratio screens:
- Vertical FoV remains unchanged
- Horizontal FOV = Verticalfov * Aspectratio
Other words
users who use the 16:10 device see more horizontally than users using the 4:3 screen! When making cinematic transitions or animations that are closely related to a camera, it is recommended that you use the 4:3 screen in Maya to make sure nothing goes out of the picture.
