I do not know whether the title can fully express the meaning of what I want to say, but I feel is not fully expressed, so please see the body, hehe!

Problem Description: Many Web developers (and hackers who hack through the web) should have a lot of SQL database connections in their hands. You typically build several groups in SQL Enterprise Manager, and then each group has a number of connection instances, such as the following figure (Figure 1):

(Figure 1)

As time goes by, there are a few instances of SQL connection that you have not used again, and the password you may have forgotten (or you have not been able to pick up the username and password for these SQL connections), and you may do so one day when you want to retrieve the password for these SQL connections:

Right-click on the SQL connection instance, select Edit SQL Server registration properties, and in the bounced SQL Server Properties dialog box (Figure 2), use the asterisk Password Viewer to view the password in the Password box (Figure 3):

(Figure 2)

(Figure 3)

Did you see it? The password in your Asterisk password viewer displays an asterisk (all "*"). (Note: First please do not doubt that is your Star password viewer is useless, wait a moment will let you see the real password!) )

Believe that most people do this in the first place, think this will be able to find the password, the results found that the asterisk password viewer or an asterisk. Just, don't be disappointed at this time, let me tell you how to retrieve the password, please see the following action:

First, select a SQL connection instance, double-click to expand the connection, if you can expand, and the connection in front of a green icon, it marks your SQL connection of the account and password is correct (Figure 4), then the next will be the password.

(Figure 4)

Two, as shown in Figure 4, in this expanded SQL connection, select "Database", then right-click the pop-up menu, select "All Tasks" under "Export data", this time will pop up the Database Export Wizard, as shown in Figure 5:

(Figure 5)

In Figure 5, click the Next button, in the Select Data Source dialog box in the Database Import Wizard, you will notice that the system defaults to "Use SQL Server Authentication" and that you have a username and password in the Username and password box below, and then we open the Asterisk Password Viewer ", drag that magnifying glass into the password box, what do you see?" In the asterisk Viewer's password box, displays is your this SQL connection real password!! As shown in Figure 6:

This method was also discovered by me in an accidental operation. A client's SQL connection password I forgot, and just this customer some of the database problems need my help to solve, so I want to use this article at the beginning of the method, directly in the SQL Server registration properties with the Asterisk password viewer to retrieve the password, but found no, so temporarily put down, Think of the customer's database into the local to say it, and then data export operations, the results found in the Database Import Export Wizard also has a password box, holding a try attitude, did not expect to find out the password.

Good Dongdong dare not to enjoy, the special issue of this graphic operation instructions for everyone to see, although only a small operation, but sometimes very useful oh!
