How to set FTP server share access permissions

Use FTP server software to set up a good FTP server, do not think that everything OK. We also need access to the information upload directory appropriate settings to ensure that each department employees can only use a specific account to log in, access to their respective information transfer directory, the following is the specific steps to set up:

First, follow the previous steps to open the Internet Information Services window, display the area to the left of the window, right-click the destination FTP site, click Properties from the pop-up shortcut menu, open the Properties Settings window for the destination FTP site, and click the Security Account tab in the window. Go to the Tab Settings page (pictured below), check that the "Allow anonymous connections" Item in the tab page is selected, and if it is found that the option is selected, then we must cancel it in time;

Second, click the "Browse" button in the label page above, from the next "Select Users or Groups" Settings window, in turn the "BBB", "CCC" user account selected and imported in, and then click the "Confirm" button, return to the Internet Information Services List window;

Then open the Server System's Explorer window and find the "AAA" directory under D disk, then right-click the subfolder in the directory window "BBB" and execute the "Properties" command in the right-click menu, open the Property Settings window of the B Department information upload directory, click the "Security" tab in the Settings window, And then click the Add button on the tab page, select the BBB user account from the pop-up Select users or Groups list, and then click OK to return to the Security tab Settings page (shown below) and give the "BBB" user account appropriate access rights on the page. Then select the Everyone account name in the image below and click the "Delete" button to cancel other employees ' access to the "BBB" folder, and finally click the "Confirm" button to end access to the "BBB" upload directory.

According to the same set of procedures, we will upload information to the directory "CCC" security permissions only granted to the "CCC" user account, so that we have successfully completed the B Department, C Department of the management of Information upload directory sharing permissions between the restrictions.

In order to check the B Department, C Department employees access to the FTP server, whether only to see the department's upload information, we now use FTP server IP address for 192.168.1.10 as an example to try FTP login access operation. First open IE Browse window, and in the Window Address box to enter the URL "ftp://192.168.1.10", click Enter, IE will automatically pop-up an authentication dialog box, in which the correct input username "BBB" and the corresponding account number access password, and then click the "Login" button, In the subsequent pop-up browsing page, we will find that staff B in the "BBB" user account log in to the FTP server, can only access and manage the "BBB" Information upload directory, and do not see the "CCC" information uploaded directory content. When we again enter the URL address "ftp://192.168.1.10" in the IE Browse window, and then enter the "CCC" user account in the Authentication dialog box and the password for the account number, we will find that the employees in C Department log on to the FTP server with the "CCC" user account can only access and manage the "CCC" information upload directory, and do not see the "BBB" Information upload directory content.

When the employee of B Department is logged into the FTP server, want to try to enter the URL address "FTP://192.168.1.10/CCC" in IE browsing window, in order to reach the information uploading directory of the C department, IE will automatically pop up the relevant prompting information, tell us that we do not have permission to browse the corresponding directory. Through the above verification operation, we found that the employees sharing the same FTP server in different departments, as long as the appropriate sharing permissions settings, will effectively avoid the risk of the department information is easily leaked.
