Screen saver Many people will use, after leaving the computer for a period of time, through it to prevent the screen for a long time to display the same screen, to extend the life of the purpose, together with the recovery password can also play the purpose of avoiding other people to use the computer. Microsoft is also in favor of this approach, so in each version of the operating system with a number of simple screen saver program, user-friendly.
Perhaps some people like the small weave, likes to make some settings to adjust, even if the screensaver is no exception. However, in Vista and the latest Windows 7, some of your own screensaver programs have no items, such as "Bubbles," "transform Lines," and "ribbons." Three. When you select one of them as the current screensaver and click on the "Settings" button, you get the "no option to set" prompt:
Is there really no customizable option? In fact, for the above three screensavers there is a way to customize the settings. You can do it with little tricks--start with the registration form.
Here's what you can do with me, take windows 7 for example:
First, you need to open the "Screen saver Settings" window, the desktop right, personalized, click on the lower right corner of the "screen saver." Then select a screensaver program that you want to change your settings for, such as ribbons. This step is intended to facilitate a preview of the modified results because the registry keys that are modified here are immediately valid.
Then enter the Regedit startup Registry Editor in the Start menu search box and navigate to: Hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\screensavers
Below the screensavers are 4 branches: Bubbles, mystify, ribbons and Sstext3d, which correspond to 4 screensaver programs, namely bubbles, transform lines, ribbons, and three-dimensional text. Here we select ribbons (ribbons) and you will see that there is only one thing named "Default" in the right area.
The next point is that we need to modify the screensaver options by creating some specific DWORD values.
For example, change the number of ribbon screens displayed on the screen: in the right blank area, right-click the new DWORD value, name it numribbons, and then double-click Numribbons, select "Cardinality" as decimal, and then fill in the numeric data with any number within 1 to 100, where I fill in 50, Finally click "OK" to complete the modification work.
Now you can switch to the "Screen saver Settings" window that you just opened, and preview the effect of the Ribbon screensaver, and if you feel the 50 ribbons are too dazzling, you can reduce the number, such as 20, 30.
Note: Each time you modify the value, remember to select the decimal base.
Three screensavers valid DWORD value and data value exactly how many? Please look at the following three sheets.
Tip: After each DWORD value is created and given a numeric value, the effect can be checked by the screensaver preview.
