Like WORD2003. WPS2005 the default template for Jinshan text is A4 paper, the top and bottom margins are 25.4 mm, the left and right margins are 31.7 mm, the header footer is empty (Figure 1) and the default text format is fifth italicized word, first not indented. Such a setting, though standard, but does not conform to the requirements of the official documents, our requirements are: 16 open paper, the upper and lower margin of 25 mm, the left and right margin of 20 mm, in the middle of the footer Insert page number, the default font is third imitation, first indent 2 characters. Each time you create a new document, you have to set it up repeatedly, not only wasting valuable time, but also making the fun of your work disappear.

So how do we set our own page settings to be the default settings for the system? Please come with me--

First, set the new page to our needs, as shown in Figure 2:

Then, insert the page number in the middle of the footer through the Insert menu, set the text font and font size, and then use the format-paragraph menu to set the first line to indent 2 characters. OK, the setup is complete, how can I set this document as the default document? Click on the "File" menu, select "Save As", the filename is set to "Default Template", and in "Save Type", select the WPS Text 2005 template file (*. WPT) "(Figure 3), the system automatically saves it in the folder where the template resides (such as c:documents and Settings username application datakingsoftoffice6templates), You can close this template document.

Back to the WPS Text 2005 interface, click on "File-new", the new item will appear on the right side of the interface, including the options "new Blank Document", "New from Default Template", "template on My Computer" and "Templates on site". Select "Templates on this machine", the template selection dialog box appears (Figure 4), select the "Default template" that we just set up, and check the "Set as Default Template" option and click "OK" to create a new document in the format we set up.

However, when we restart the WPS text 2005 from the desktop shortcut, the document opened by default is not the format we set, and we can only create a new document with the template we set up from the "New from the default template" in the commonly used buttons. Is there no way out? No! There are more ways than difficulties! Do you remember the way we left the template just now? Yes, that's c:documents. and Settings username application Datakingsoftoffice6templates (slightly different depending on the operating system installation location and username), now turn off WPS text 2005, Into this directory, delete the "NORMAL.WPT" (prevent accidental, can be backed up to other locations), the "Default template we have just established. WPT" to "NORMAL.WPT", through this cynical, and then start WPS Text 2005, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that, The new document is the format we want!
