Configure the main boot
First we need to configure the printer on the host. We refer to the computer directly attached to the printer as "host", while other computers in the local area network that need to share the print with the host are called "clients".
The first step: Connect the printer to the host, turn on the printer power, through the host's control panel into the Printers and Faxes folder, right-click in the margin, select the Add Printer command, open the Add Printer wizard window. Select "Connect to this computer's local printer" and check the "Automatically detect and install Plug and Play printers" checkbox.
Step two: The host will be testing the new printer, will soon find a connected printer, as prompted by the printer included in the driver CD into the CD drive, the printer's driver installed, in the Printers and Faxes folder will appear in the printer's icon.
Step three: Click the right mouse button on the newly installed printer icon, select the Sharing command, open the Properties dialog box for the printer, switch to the Sharing tab, select Share this printer, and in the Share Name input box, fill in the name you want to share, such as Compaqij, click OK button to complete the shared settings.
To configure your own printer
Click "Start" on your own computer-then click "Settings", select a printer and fax (you can find it directly by looking for your printer icon) and right-click it to select Share. Then click "Start" on the other machine-select "Run" Enter \192.168.1.152 (the IP that connects the printer) and then you can see the shared printer, right-click it, and set as the default printer.
