Sound file Missing "start"--"run"--input%systemroot%media, carriage return
Look in the folder window for any Windows XP jingle. wav file, if not, copy one to a normal Windows XP system come over
Set Error Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Sound and Audio Devices
Switch to the Sound tab and select the default sound in the Program event box to see if the sound is "Windows XP jingle. wav"
If not, click the "Browse" button next to the Media folder and select Windows XP Jingle. wav, click OK
Does the media path point to the folder where the sound is stored run the "regedit" command to open the Registry Editor window and locate the following registry path
Hkey_local_machinesoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrentversion
To the right window of the CurrentVersion item, locate and double-click to open the MediaPath parameter
Check whether numeric data is a c:windowsmedia path
Restore related registry Parameters right-click in the desktop space, "new"--"text document"
Open the new text document and copy the following code in
REG ADD "Hkcucontrol panelsound"/V "Beep"/"yes"/F
REG ADD "Hkcucontrol panelsound"/V "extendedsounds"/"yes"/F
reg delete "Hkcuappevents"/F
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection%systemroot%infmmopt.inf,soundupdate
Click "File" on the menu bar--"Save as"
In the Save as interface to choose the location of the saved, click on the Encoded Drop-down box, select "Unicode", type "1.bat" in the filename, click the "Save" button
Finally, double-click the batch file with the name "1" on the desktop to write the parameters inside to the registry
