4. View the IP of Ubuntu
Ifconfig (note is ifconfig, not ipconfig on windows)
5. Connect
SECURECRT = Quick Connect, connect ubuntu, enter Ubuntu ID and pwd
6. Solving the problem of garbled characters
Connected successfully, found that securecrt on Chinese characters display garbled. Google, as if to say that the Ubuntu 2.6 kernel ssh default encoding is UTF8, and securecrt default display encoding is not UTF8, so long as the securecrt of the display code changes to UTF8 can be displayed correctly. In SecureCRT, select Option->session option->apperance to change the character encoding to UTF8.

(b) WMware configuration allows other machines to use SECURECRT to connect
VMware Network Configuration environment: Install Linux (Windows Host + Linux guest) VMware network configuration steps on Windows XP with VMware:

1. When installing Linux on the VMware Workstation, the network interface is selected Hostonly (if you've already installed it, it doesn't matter if you have a NAT or bridge, you can change the properties of the virtual machine to hostonly. )

2. To view the network connection in Windows XP, you will find that in addition to the original network card, there are more Vmnet1 and Vmnet8. If you look at the instructions you should know that Vmnet1 is an interface to Hostonly, and Vmnet8 is a network interface that uses NAT. Here we do not want to use VMware's own DHCP and do not want to use his NAT so we only care about VMnet1.

3. Check the properties of your network adapter for the extranet, select the "Advanced" tab, set to allow sharing, and set the Allowed network interface VMNET1.

4. Take a look at the properties of your VMnet1 and look at the settings of the TCP/IP protocol, and you will find that it has been automatically set to 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0, for example.

5. The settings under Windows are complete and transferred to the virtual machine running Linux. Set the IP address of your eth0 to static (if no static is selected at the time of installation)

Overview of the VMware Network configuration principles:
Use the Hostonly network interface to connect virtual machines and hosts, and then take advantage of the Internet Connection Sharing that comes with Windows xp/2000 (which is actually a simple routing nat) to allow the virtual machine to access the network through the original NIC
