Knowledge Point analysis:
The slicer function provided in Excel 2010 can help you complete data analysis in less time.
Procedure:
1. First, place the cursor in the previously designed pivot table, so that you can use the pivottable tool to perform relevant operations, in the "sort and filter" option group on the "options" context tab, click "Insert slice", as shown in Figure 1:
2. All available field names are listed in the "insert into slicer" dialog box that appears. Each field name corresponds to a separate slicer, we can select based on actual needs. In this example, we select "year" and "bookstore name", and then click "OK", as shown in Figure 2:
3. The two slices are quickly inserted into the worksheet, as shown in Figure 3:
4. You can click the mouse to quickly filter the pivot table, for example, if you want to view the Sales Summary of books in 2009, you can directly click the "2009" year button in the "year slicer. If you want to view a bookstore, you can select the bookstore name slicer, as shown in Figure 4:
5. If you want to clear a filter, click the clear filter button in the corresponding slice, as shown in Figure 5:
