How to use virtual mechanism to make U disk Veket system

Some users use U disk to start the computer directly, with Diskgenius and VMware to the U disk partition, and then install the Veket system, so that neither infected virus, but also convenient file management.

Operation Steps

1, my u disk is a 8G SandiskU3 disk, first divided into two areas with Diskgenius, a 5G partition (file system set itself, can be NTFS or FAT32, I use NTFS), A 2.5G FAT32 partition, 2.5G partition is active partition, must put 2.5G partition behind, such small partition in Windows Explorer is hidden.

2. Extract all the files from the veket ISO image file 7-zip into the Veket directory in the 5G disk, and must also have syslinux directory and syslinux.cfg. These files can be found by searching the Internet.

3. Use VMware to build a new virtual machine

In the wizard, select Customize

Select a physical disk, then pay attention to, do not choose the wrong, you must choose your U disk, you can first use the "single partition" option to test to see which disk is your U disk. My USB drive is PhysicalDrive1.

Then save the virtual disk files to the hard disk, the virtual machine is finished.

4. Open the virtual machine CD-ROM settings, using the Windows system mirror files, I use here is the PE system. Of course, other startup methods can be, as long as you can use Windows to start the virtual machine.

5. Set the startup order of the virtual machines to start for CD-ROM

I can find two hard drives in My computer, a C disk in D, and copy all the files from D to C.

7. Turn off the virtual machine and restart your computer with a U disk.

In this way, after the system, under XP, the boot partition is not visible. Modifications to the hidden boot partition can be done with VMware. In this way, even if the USB disk accidentally inserted into the computer with a virus, boot partition files will not be corrupted (boot partition under Windows is not visible, virus inaccessible). The solution to the U disk can not write protection to insert the virus computer data is damaged. Use this method to do veket boot disk, do not need to volume production of u disk, will not cause damage to u disk.
