HP dl380 RAID5 configuration method

Solution:

  1. Use Orca to configure RAID 5
    1. The f8.

    2. Press F8 to enter the array Configuration tool rbsu. Select the first item: create logical drive to go to the array creation page.

    3. Use the Space key selection and Tab key switch options. Select all three physical hard disks; select RAID 5; because only three SAS hard disks are used, no spare is selected; maximum boot partition: Select 8 GB maximum. Press enter to create RAID 5.

    4. Press F8 to save the configuration.

    5. The system prompts that the settings have been saved. Press enter to continue.

    6. Return to the main interface, select View loagical driver, and press enter to view array information.

    7. There is a logical drive with the RAID 5 level and the status is OK.

    8. Press enter to view details. Displays the parameters and status of the physical disk in the array and whether the spare disk exists.

  2. Use array Configuration Utility (ACU) in smart start7.91 to configure RAID 5.
    1. Enter ACU (two methods can be used to access ACU ):
      • Use the smart start7.91 CD to boot to the main interface of Smart Start and select maintain server-configure array.
      • If the ProLiant Support Pack (psppackage) has been installed in the system (taking windows as an example), enable ACU in the Start-Program-HP System Tools-HP array Configuration Utility.

    2. Create an array. In configuration view, select smart array P400 In slot3; In comman tasks, select create array. The following interface is displayed. Select the hard disk type (SAS) and physical hard disk. Click OK to create an array.

    3. Create a logical drive. Select SAS array A and create logical drive in comman tasks.

    4. Fault Tolerance: RAID 5; stripe size: 64 KB (you can also select another option); size: the capacity of RAID 5. Max boot and array accelerator can be set as needed. Click OK.

    5. Click Save.

    6. A warning is prompted. Click OK to continue.

    7. Created successfully. You can click More infornation in comman tasks to view RAID 5 Details.
