I have to repeat what I said on Weibo many times: These manufacturers' minds are broken by Apple, and they will be buried first in the PC era.

I admitted last year that I was a fruit black ). However, compared with Apple, these PC manufacturers are scum, and black companies are too lazy.

Taking Android tablets as an example, these manufacturers are simply despising the consumer's IQ-the configuration and quality of shanzhai products, and the price of apple. It's not a normal thing.

According to a new survey report, the market share of Android tablets is growing higher than that of iPad, and may surpass that of iPad in the future. Not to mention whether this prediction can be established, at least pay attention to the fact that the fastest growing Android tablet product is the Kindle Fire. That is to say, there is actually no PC vendor, but competition between Amazon and Apple as a content provider.

However, this is not just content competition. The configuration, quality, and price of the Kindle Fire are all sincere. In contrast, what are the reasons for PC manufacturers to make consumers pay?

Win8 will never be a life-saving tool for them. Do not think that after decades of running the Win8 product, the Win8 tablet is also a mobile platform, not a PC platform. Using Slag configuration and quality to make a Win8 tablet is just like dying.

The price is the same.

For example, if the ARM platform is used, no matter Win8 or Android, the hardware is similar. If Android cannot reduce the cost, the Win8 result will also be the same. With the license fee of Win8, the cost of the Win8 tablet will be higher and the price will not be lower. The mobile platform is not a PC platform. In the final analysis, what users need is applications. windows on the mobile platform does not have the advantages of applications on the PC platform. Why do consumers spend more money on it?

The only way out is the Win8 flat of the X86 platform. However, even if intel is so keen, x86 hardware costs will not be much lower than arm.

It is said that even HP intends to completely abandon WebOS to switch to the Win8 Tablet on the X86 platform. However, the price is still a problem. If HP wants to make a profit, it must set a suitable price. For this price, refer to touchpad's listed price. Of course, if HP can be sold at the price of touchpad, it will certainly be sold. The problem is that the practice has proved that such a price can be sold even if WebOS is sold ...... But this is obviously a loss-making business.

There is also the illusion that Nokia, since Lumia's launch, seems to have had a glimmer of life, so that these PC manufacturers also have the illusion of bright prospects for cooperation with Microsoft. However, there are three problems:

First, in the cooperation of Microsoft, it is obvious that Microsoft has benefited more, and has achieved Lumia, a platform that shows wp7.5, which has greatly promoted the success of the WP system, nokia, as I said, is a general hardware manufacturer that can develop a small application software. However, the system cannot be infected at all-for example, wp7.5 currently does not support dual-core-which affects the competitiveness of Lumia.

Second, Nokia is a mobile device manufacturer. It knows how to make mobile devices better than PC manufacturers.

Third, although the price of Lumia cannot be said to be very low, it is not relatively high, but it is obtained through in-depth cooperation with Microsoft, for this reason, Microsoft even provided a lot of cash to Nokia, which is not an advantage of other PC vendors.

Also, do not forget that there are also shanzhai manufacturers on the market. There is no better quality than shanzhai, but the prices are so high. Consumers are better at choosing shanzhai products. The configuration quality is almost the same, and Shanzhai is cheaper.

After talking about the price issues, the reason is actually very simple: ipad2's current price/performance ratio is enough to fall below the vast majority of tablets on the market.

Basically, I think that the Android tablet on the market (including the Win8 tablet in the future) can be used unless the price is reduced, and there is no other way to go. For the price benchmark, refer to the Kindle Fire.

Ultrabook

It cannot be said that the new air created by Apple is a very powerful thing, killing traditional laptops and short-lived netbooks.

I will not talk about traditional laptops. I will talk about netbooks. In fact, the current netbook is not as good as a mobile phone, and it can be regarded as a fool. It was good when I first came out year 56, because the mobile phone was not so powerful and the laptop was not so cheap. But in year 56, the configuration of the netbook was almost never changed. Although the atom CPU was replaced by several generations, the performance was just half-dead, the display resolution is even worse than 1024x600 (Intel is allowed to increase to 1366X768 only when it is dying recently ).

In fact, I was quite optimistic about the netbook in. I felt that this low power consumption would satisfy the basic application performance, and it would be good to go along the path of small size and low price. But what we did not expect was that Intel expected this kind of thing to be able to eat for a lifetime without improving. It neither improves performance nor reduces power consumption. The worst thing is to limit the screen resolution. It is very difficult to view a webpage at a horizontal resolution of 600 lines.

However, it is not a day or two for PC manufacturers to put on the screen issue. It has started from the era of wide screens. I have noticed from the very beginning that the actual display area of the wide screen is much smaller than that of the traditional 4-3, so I chose 4-3 screen when I changed the display on the desktop. I 'd rather spend more money, viewing code or webpages is much better than a wide screen of the same size. PC manufacturers have been fooling users since then to create a larger wide screen illusion. So in recent years, the vertical resolution of the notebook display has been dominated by 768, this is simply horrible-my laptop 12 years ago had a resolution of 768 lines!

MacBook Air really captures the focus of user needs: small size, low power consumption, strong performance, but also with a high-resolution display, although the price is higher than the general notebook, however, with such configuration and quality, the current price is already quite low.

Of course, Intel's new CULV processor is indispensable. Just to other PC manufacturers, how did Intel's Ultrabook solution become shit?

In a machine with a hardware configuration similar to that of air, except for the Toshiba z830, the price is slightly reasonable (referring to the foreign market price), the products of other manufacturers are not cheaper than air, in addition, the key screen resolution must be at least one level lower than that of air. This is not a naked fool. Dell! It's just you. The resolution of 13-inch 1366x768 means that the moto lapdock that sells 10 thousand or 2,800 pieces has this resolution, even if you are the smallest 13-inch, it uses an 11-inch resolution or slag.

Asus is the only one who has sincerity in the Ultrabook resolution. The 13-inch zenbook is now the same as the 900-line resolution of air (the width is larger than that of air ), in the future, the new version will be upgraded to 1920x1080 in Full HD, so that the price for selling air is acceptable. However, it is a pity that Asus is still a PC manufacturer, but it still does not work in terms of tablets. The price of tf201 is too expensive, and it is normal to sell it.

Basically, I think that the price reference of Ultrabook should be a discount for the price of air with the same configuration.
