Step 1

Create a new layer on the picture. Select the ground area and fill with a dotted gray-blue (#d6d8e3)

  Step 2

Use a layer mask (if you're lazy to use the eraser) to expose the brick pillars, we only need the snow area.

  Step 3

Make the scene more natural by roughly adjusting the shape of the brick column and the distant mountain.

  Step 4

Create a new layer and hold down the SHIFT key to draw a positive circle using the Oval tool.

  Step 5

Create a new layer and fill it with a gray-blue (#6d85ad), clipping mask to the previous circle (press ALT to click in the middle of two layers or use ctrl+alt+g).

  Step 6

Use a flexible circle brush to roughly smear the shape of the ball with a lighter color than before (#e5e4ec).

(students who are familiar with layer styles can draw on bevel and emboss styles)

  Step 7

Select the Mixer Brush tool (below the Brush tool) and select dry, deep strokes to confirm that sampling all layers is not selected.

Merge (ctrl+e) all layers before the sphere are selected. Select the Blend brush tool and use the soft circle brush to adjust the brush spacing very low (2%-4%). Adjust the brush diameter to a larger size than the ball, and then hold down the ALT key to click Sampling in the middle of the ball.

Now try the effect. If the spacing is too large, resize the picture resolution or brush spacing.

  Step 8

Create a new layer and use the previous 3D brush to draw a small "wave" in the background.

Draw another layer with a slightly larger diameter

Make it a little bit bigger and draw a layer ...

A little bit bigger and one more layer ...

Until it fills the picture.

  Step 9

Put all the "snow waves" clipping masks into the snow area. After resetting the blend brush tool, use large spacing and roughly smear the stripes on the snow.

  Step 10

Create a new layer select the snow area and fill it with a light blue sky (eyedropper tool i). Use this layer to give the snow shade a more appropriate color.

  Step 11

Double-click the layer to enter the Layer style window. We want to show this blue only in the dark area, so hold down the ALT key and drag the white mark to the left in the next layer of the color mix.

  Step 12

Change the blending style to soft light so that the white part of the snow is brighter.

  Step 13

The farther away the snow the contrast should be less obvious, so we need a distant background of the snow shadow should be used to cover a layer of white. Create a new layer, fill any color, and double-click the layer to add a gradient overlay. Use a white gradient, but it's completely transparent to the part of us that's near it (the left part).

  Step 14

Select the color of the sky, create a new layer, and roughly draw the shadow of the brick column according to the shape of the snow.

  Step 15

Change the layer style to multiply to show the snow shape, and if it's too dark, you can adjust the layer transparency.

  Step 16

Creates a new layer. Choose Snow Brush, use a small size in the snow "sprinkle" snow.

  Step 17

This part of the snowflake should be invisible in the shaded section, so use the color mixing belt to adjust the black part to the right in the next layer.

  Step 18

White will reflect light, so the back of the brick column should be able to see the effect of reflected light. Create a new layer and use a soft circle brush to paint a small amount of light blue on the back of the brick pillar to create a reflective effect.

  Step 19

Use the color mixing band to remove the reflective light from the cracks in the brick column. If the reflection is too bright, you can adjust the blending mode to filter and reduce the opacity.

  Step 20

Create a new layer and use a hard round brush to draw the snow effect at the top of the brick pillar. The pickup color on the ground is superimposed from dark to bright colors.

  Step 21

The sky is a bit too clear, so create a new layer that roughly covers the sky and then daub it with a soft circle brush.

  Step 22

Reduce transparency until the Sky section is in accordance with the brightness of the scene. Pay attention to exposing the brick pillar section.

  Step 23

Put the snowflakes in the previous tutorial and complete the whole scene.
