IE browser warning caused by disabling tortoisesvn

 

After tortoisesvn is installed in Windows 7, if you want to upload a file in IE, you only need to select a directory in the open file dialog box, and IE will pop up with a warning message, the prompt "the website is using ProgramOpen Web content ". According to the detailed information, it is caused by the tsvncache.exe program.

The cause of this warning is that tortoisesvn monitors files on the disk. If the file is a version controlled file, after the file is changed, A custom icon will be used to overwrite the original icon of the file to show the difference. In the file opening dialog box in IE browser, the tsvncache monitoring process also works by default, so there is a warning.

The removal method is very simple. Open the tortoisesvn setting option, and under the icon overwrite option, check "show icon overwrites and context menu only in the resource manager. After you start IE again, this warning will not appear.
