If you see a warning message that tells you that Vt-x supports firmware lockout on an Intel-based MAC, make sure that you are currently running the latest software update.
This article has been archived, so Apple will no longer update it.
When using third-party products that use Intel vt-x virtual technology, you may receive a warning informing you that vt-x support has been locked by the firmware on your Mac.
You may also notice that Vt-x support has been deactivated when you use third-party virtualization applications such as VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop on your Mac.
You can resolve this issue by making sure that your Mac installs the latest available software updates:
For Xserve (early 2009), please install Xserve EFI firmware Update 1.2.
For Mac Pro (early 2008), install Mac Pro EFI firmware update 1.3.
For Mac Mini (early 2006), install Mac mini EFI firmware update 1.1 or later.
For Mac Pro (original model), install Mac Pro EFI firmware update 1.2 or later.
If you are using another Intel-based MAC, run the software update to make sure that you have the latest firmware updates.
You should also install any updates that are available for non-Apple-manufactured software. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

How to enable the virtual function of the CPU under MAC:
Find a lap of the answer only to find that their own CPU is not supported. One of the Buddies on stack overflow answered it in detail. If you want to run DOCKER,CPU you must satisfy both vt-x and vt-d. We can go and search our own CPU parameters. If so, then installing Docker is no problem. Don't assume that your CPU supports virtualization technology to work. There's a simple way to check for Mac OS is sysctl Kern.hv_support
Command. If the 1 description is supported for both Vt-x and vt-d. Under Mac, if the CPU is supported, the various virtualization technologies are turned on by default, so there is no case of manual opening in the BIOS like Windows.
