Recently, we are considering developing a product inspection data management system for the factory to record the material quality inspection data during the production process. We plan to use Forms Services and workflow in Sharepoint, but this project involves many departments and the production environment is complex. I am not sure I can use Sharepoint to implement it. I don't want to report it to the project, but I am invested in human development. It was only after that I discovered that I could not do it.
The following are some of the situations and difficulties I have encountered. Please help me to see if SPS can meet the requirements. Please recommend good tools and practices.
First, the workflows and forms I designed are basically as follows:
- TEST project form:Record corrosion resistance, wear resistance, x-ray photograph and other inspection items, including the test conditions, equipment, and operation specifications of the project, as well as multiple indicators that determine the qualification or quality level, these indicators must be classified into Chinese national standard, American standard, and European standard.
- Material inspection project form:You can select multiple inspection items for a material. This form records the items to be inspected. During inspection, each sample has an instance of this form.
- Test command form:This form is generated from the release of the test command. As workflow collects signature and step status information during the test process. It records the time when the inspection starts, when the inspection is completed, the department responsible for the inspection, the purpose of the inspection, the materials to be inspected, the sampling method, the qualification criteria, and the feedback to the inspection results ......
- Sample Information Form:Samples materials according to the inspection instructions. Each sample must record the serial number, process, specification, formula, and other information.
- Test result form:After the inspection is completed, submit the material inspection project form to the relevant departments. The relevant departments will evaluate the inspection indicators. This form records the material symptoms, evaluation results, availability for production, improvement suggestions, and other information.
- Inspection work arrangement form:The entire inspection process generates many forms. Afterwards, data needs to be queried and associated for retrieval. A form of inspection work arrangement form or report record can be used to retrieve the entire process or provide links.
Difficulties:
- The factory has PDM, which is developed in Java. SPS must be integrated with PDM. With the production process controlled by PDM, SPS can automatically start the workflow, issue inspection instructions, and generate inspection forms for various semi-finished products in each stage of the job. After the QC personnel fill in the inspection form, when data is transmitted back to PDM, PDM determines whether to allow or change the process.

- Some operating environments in the factory do not have computers. production personnel use wireless handheld devices of the Win CE system. After the inspection instructions are issued, QC personnel must fill in the inspection data with handheld devices.

- Inspection materials may be divided into multiple materials for inspection, or different people and machines may be used to inspect different items.
So my idea is to manage Bom, which is implemented by multiple tables in a single layer. In this way, we need to perform automatic splitting of inspection commands and merge inspection results.
However, as a result, there will be more than 10 layers of forms in the list or database of SPS in each test, which is inconvenient for retrieval. Therefore, I want to add a test work arrangement form or report, store the metadata of each test form level. Through this form, you can find out who is responsible for each step of the test, what are they doing, and when they are completed.
- After workflow is verified, the form data needs to be written to the database. The form reading database should be okay, but writing to the database seems to be very troublesome.
At present, there are so many problems that we can think of. The reason why we want to use SPS is that the situation at the factory is complicated. The statements and practices are often different and the requirements need to be changed, use the Office tool for editing.
In addition, I have read Excel + VBA on Excel home for invoicing and MIS, but Excel does not seem to be able to implement workflow. Experts in this field can also give some advice.
