When IIS sets up gzip, there is a temporary directory that can be customized and, of course, the default path:%windir%iis Temporary compressed Files. The temp directory is some of the files that IIS automatically generates when gzip compression is stored, which can consume dozens of megabytes of disk space.

For the first time to configure IIS gzip for beginners, it may be because of that reason can not start gzip, select a temporary directory easily, but the temporary directory permissions to set the problem is often overlooked.
By testing, the gzip temporary directory needs to be added with the following permissions: IIS_WPG user group, IIS user. They also need to be given read and write permissions. Set as shown in the following illustration:
