To the users of the illustrator software to share a detailed interpretation of the painting of colored abstract flowers of the tutorial.
First, I used my cell phone to find some pictures of bouquets, and I painted the shapes of the flowers I like. The tool used is a pencil, and the stroke weight of the sketch is about 0.1 pounds. This thickness is very convenient, because you can see the line, but not too thick. No matter how many times you zoom in, you don't distract you too much.
Yi, you said no sketch, then the opportunity to: "Non-class students are blessed!" hands-on teaching you to start from the Zero Foundation to learn the sketch!
I determined the size of the picture, and I checked out the approximate composition structure. Unlike other parts of the line, I separate the contour of the flower separately because it needs to be processed later.
Ii. background and high-light
When determining the background, it is best to take two more than the desired color darker, in the AI, the use of bright or light colors than to add shadows easier to draw a focus. Otherwise the screen will lack depth and bright colors.
To highlight the color contour, I'm using a radial gradient. Can be a combination of multiple colors, and always set transparent edges (opacity: 0%). In the middle area, I set the opacity to: 50-60%. With the transparent edges set, the color will gradually blend into the background. The use of radial gradients in AI is more convenient than built-in PS effects (effects > Photo effects > Blur).
Use a yellow gradient to emphasize the rose. The middle Rose is the brightest one, and I have made the center a little bit, because it is the most contrasting shade and bright petals. Gradients > Opacity: 58%, transparency > glare.
I created the objects that I needed to emphasize in step 2nd, grouped them and moved them a little bit, and put them on top of the orange gradient. Because of this move I accidentally got a stronger color, the effect is very good.
I put the picture of the flower next to the painting, began to draw the shadow with cold blue, and tried mode transparency > glare. This will only be slightly/subtly added to the blue.
I applied a light yellow gradient on the flowers, saved the settings, and began to draw the details of the petals and draw the soft texture of the petals.
I tried a different color again. When you don't have a clear picture in your head, you need to try all the time and don't forget to use transparency > saturation. This is the most interesting part of color matching and can produce unexpected results.
Color matching can be constantly tried, but have enough knowledge of the color system yo: "Color collocation Crash!" 3 practical ways to get your color
In order to separate the roses from the background so that the light around the petals differs from the color of the petals, I used a radial gradient. Use the Eraser tool to make the shape of the rose. Apply gradients > routines in transparent mode. When you need a smooth transition between colors, this pattern is perfect and does not create a sharp contrast in color.
Four, background decoration
I decided to brighten the lower part and the upper left corner is the darkest part of the picture. I used a gradient to brighten, then use the radial 1 (Gradient > Radial). Why not linear gradients? Because even in this case, a small portion of the gradient is displayed in the image, and the line is round rather than straight. This linear gradient of line size will be too much for the scene.
I created an object (Transparency > glare, opacity: 20%) to make it produce a thin layer of glass with a visual sensation. In order to make the image more vivid and create a dreamy flower, I used the eraser tool on the branches.
Use (opacity: <50%) semitransparent objects with purple and lemon yellow to draw the Rose's high light and shadow respectively.
One of my favorite tricks is to use bright light points. Set the gradient radial (Gradient > Radial), and then set the slider to center, to get a large transparent edge. This way you can get a bright, clear central image. This is the way I do light dots. Now you can draw points of light in triangles or other simple graphs.
I use a cool palette gradient to draw ice-shaped petals. Draw an outline and leave the veins blank.
You can create a brush to add decorations. I created a dew-like brush and made a few different colors. This decorative brush can increase the creative sense of the picture.
To create a bead brush you first draw a circle of different sizes and align. If you want to use this brush a lot, you have to draw too many circles. The more elements in the brush, the more difficult the computer calculation, the file will overload, so that the computer reaction slowed down, the crash.
Combine these circle objects, and hold down the mouse to drag. A panel appears and click the Art brush. And it won't change in the next Panel/menu. The brushes are ready.
The author is not speaking too clearly and will not create a brush for the students to look here:
Basic Tutorials: Tips for installing and managing brushes, recommended! How to manage and classify brushes effectively
Marks all creation objects except the background, grouped and selected. Then use the Eraser tool to divide the portrait into parts and delete some places. This is another interesting little trick I've been using. I often use it in the absence of inspiration or when I want to add an unusual effect. Try to adjust the different patterns in the opacity, or change different positions.
And one of the interesting tricks I've been using. Use part of the picture to create a fantastic fill effect. You can hide the contour, open the Fill (color), and then simply delete the unwanted parts.
I set the rose more transparent and reflected the orange light on the Rose. Now the silhouette of the ice and snow rose is complete, and then the details are added.
I chose the gradient I created earlier to light the screen and erase the part with the Eraser tool. In the blue background to form the feeling of chaos.
If the color is too homogeneous, you can add another strong contrast color. I use a lively orange rose to contrast the dark stems of a rose.
I use bright colours to emphasize the edges. It's best to draw bright colours at the end of the day because they are very colourful. Painting at the beginning may distract attention from drawing.
In this tutorial, I have shown some of the color techniques in AI. Hopefully it will help you find the inspiration and color mix you want to paint and make your drawings more diverse. My goal has been to bring more fun in drawing, to avoid the boundaries of feeling, and to motivate others to do the same.
