Select the 2 copies and click the Subtract button from the shape area in the Pathfinder panel. The resulting shape, padding: r=2g=97 b=254, reduces opacity to 50%. Then make a copy of the 2 blue shapes, then select the top-most copy and click the right key on the keyboard 9 times (move 4.5px to the right). Select the 2 copies and click the Subtract button from the shape area in the Pathfinder panel. The resulting shape, padding: linear gradients as shown in Figure 6.
