Failure phenomenon:
When you compose e-mail messages and attach files to a message, attachments may sometimes appear in the body of the message and sometimes appear in the attachment box below the subject line. Drag and drop the file in Outlook 2010 to attach it to an e-mail message. Attachments are usually displayed in the header, but sometimes the files are attached to the body of the message.
Reason Analysis:
When you compose a message in Outlook, the way you attach the file differs depending on the type of format.
1. In
Rich Text format, attachments are displayed in the body of the message.
one of the advantages of rich text formatting is that you can change the font size and color. Microsoft Outlook supports this format.
2. In
HTML and text format, the attachment appears in the message header. With HTML formatting, you can change the font size and color. Most e-mail software supports composing HTML messages. Text formatting is the simplest form and does not allow you to change the font size and color. On the other hand, all e-mail software can handle this format.
Solution:
1. You can see if the message is written in rich Text format by looking at format in the format Text tab. You can see if the message was written in Rich Text format. You can also check which format you are using by looking at the title bar.
2. Click the Format Text tab, and then click HTML in format, which allows you to choose HTML format and change the format of the message when you compose the message.
Note:
Things to note:
1. Outlook uses HTML as the default format, but when you reply to a message that is written in rich Text format, the reply is automatically written in rich Text format.
2. When you use Rich Text format, you may not be able to read messages if the recipients of the message are using e-mail software other than Outlook
