However, ActiveX may also expose security risks and slow down the computer speed. ActiveX filtering in IE allows you to block ActiveX control items of all websites, and then re-enable these control items only for websites you trust, this helps you improve protection against dangerous and unreliable ActiveX controls. Follow these steps to perform ActiveX Filtering:
Possible security risks include:Collect information on your computer, damage the information on your computer, install software on your computer without your consent, or allow others to remotely control your computer. ActiveX filtering prevents website installation and use of these programs.
[Enable ActiveX filtering]
1. open IE browser & rarr; click the "tools" icon & rarr; "security" & rarr; "ActiveX Filtering" in the upper right corner (if checked, this function is enabled ).
2. After setting, please close all IE browsers. After enabling IE again, the related settings will take effect.
[Set a trusted website as an exception]
1. You can disable ActiveX filtering on a trusted website, click the filter icon in the URL column, and then disable or enable the filtering options provided by the website.
Note:If the ActiveX filter function is enabled, the blue filter button icon is displayed on the right of the address bar.
