In Lenovo Storage S3200/2200 Storage, if you suspect a problem with the virtual disk, run the verification utility to check the integrity of the virtual disk. For example, if the storage system is running outside the normal temperature range, verify its virtual disk. The verification utility analyzes the selected virtual disk and finds and fixes the inconsistency between redundant data and user data. This utility will fix the parity mismatch of RAID 3, 5, 6, and 50; the image of RAID 1 and 10 does not match; this task can only be in the FTOL status (fault tolerance and online) NRAID or RAID 0 cannot be executed.
Verification lasts for more than an hour, depending on the size of the virtual disk, the priority of the utility, and the number of I/O activities. You can still use the virtual disk when it is verified. When verification is complete, event 21 is recorded and the number of inconsistencies found is indicated. Such inconsistency may indicate that the disk in the virtual disk is damaged.
The procedure is as follows:
Verify virtual disk
1. On the configuration view page, right-click the fault tolerance virtual disk and choose tools> verify virtual disk.
2. Click start verification utility. Message validation has started.
3. Click OK. The page displays the verification progress.
Abort virtual disk verification
1. On the configuration view page, right-click the fault tolerance virtual disk and choose tools> verify virtual disk.
2. Click stop verification utility. The message shows that the verification has been aborted.
3. Click OK.
