The repair and recovery features of the computer in Windows 7 have been enhanced and improved, and when our computer fails or needs to be restored, you can activate Windows ' advanced startup options ' by pressing the F8 key at startup, and selecting ' Fix computer ' from the list to go to Windows Recovery (Windows RE) environment.
Windows 7 is included in the "Repair computer" option in the advanced startup options under Default installation. If the user does not see repair computer in the Advanced startup options list, you can use the Windows 7 self-contained command to repair or configure it, in addition to booting into Repair mode using CD-ROM.
Solution:
This article will show you how to enable the Repair computer option under Advanced startup options by using the Windows 7 self-contained configure Windows Recovery Environment (RE) command –reagentc.exe.
First, run "cmd.exe" as an administrator, based on the following illustration. To do this, click the Windows start icon, type "cmd" in the search for programs and files input box, right-click "Cmd.exe" in the search results, and click "Run as Administrator" in the list that pops up.
Then, type "Reagentc/info" in the Open command line environment and press the "enter" key. Information about the Windows RE will then appear. As the following illustration shows, we see that the current "enabled Windows RE" value is "0", that is, Windows RE is disabled.
After you have determined that Windows RE is disabled, type the "reagentc/enable" command line and press the "enter" key to re-enable Windows RE. If the command executes successfully, the REAGENTC is obtained. EXE: "Successful operation" information prompt.
Finally, restarting Windows 7 allows you to see the "Repair Computer" option in the advanced startup options by pressing F8 at startup. As shown in the following illustration:
