Initial reporting service experience

Recently, I have re-installed the machine. By the way, I want to learn how to install Microsoft's reporting service.

Of course, to install this stuff, you need to configure the machine.
1: first, we need Win2000 Server/advance server/win2003
2: SQL2000, and sp3a
3: for development needs, you need to install vs2003 first

This is almost the case. By the way, if it is 2000, you need to have authz when installing it again.
I don't know what this is. I started to report that this component was not found on the machine.
I jumped over and found that, if not, I could only install the client, but could develop but not deploy it.
Later, I found this file on win2003 and copied it to c: \ winnt \ system32 under 2000. It will be okay to reinstall it.

ProgramFiles are installed on

C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft SQL Server \ MSSQL \ Reporting Services

Two virtual directories are added in IIS.
One is reportserver for deployment.
One is reports for management.

After vs2003 is started, the report service designer is embedded in the startup interface.

I suddenly remembered that I had to install patches. I had to shut down all the projects, set SP1 and SP2, restart them, And Then browse the reports.
The print button is displayed, but a plug-in is required. Well, you can check it again later.

I used it a little later, but I haven't studied it very deeply yet, but it is exciting in some places.
Let me briefly explain my experience.

3: The export function, especially in Excel format, is perfect for exporting formatted report data.
In contrast, there is a gap in the aspect of Crystal Reports.
4: The crosstab chart in the crystal report is called a matrix here. In English, it is a matrix. At first, I thought I had not sighed for a while.
5: the lines in the crystal report can only be vertical and horizontal. You can draw a diagonal line in the report service, but it is rough.
6: The formula has not been used yet. However, it should be nice to check its attribute mode ~~
7: The most exciting thing is cell. Because there is no cell concept in the crystal report, it is a line and a box, which cannot meet some special needs.
The advantages in the report service can be combined to easily set the background color of a grid, row, and column.
8: the report is highly controllable. You can see from several examples that the report is dynamic, such as data deepening.
In addition, it seems that you can design parameters directly in the template, and then select Custom Data on the page after HTML rendering.
9: The Chart function is powerful. You can pull the chart function in the office.
10: it is easy to deploy because it is in the web form. It seems that you only need to install a service program on the server? It is still to be verified.

This is because I just tried it. There are still many things to learn.
For example, customization of the report appearance, control in the program, complex data processing, and preparation of complex reports.
I am now using the 120-day experience version. I hope I will gain some benefits during this period.
