Insert greeting to mail merge in Word2010

In general, users are accustomed to writing word2010/2097.html ' > greetings at the beginning of a letter to show respect and greetings to the recipient, such as "Dear Mr. Zhang", "Dear mr.chen" and other forms. When a user makes a mail merge in Word2010, you can insert a greeting at the beginning of the letter, as described in the following steps:

Step 1th, open the Word2010 document window and move the insertion cursor to the beginning of the letter. Switch to the Mail ribbon and click the Greeting button in the Write and Insert Fields group, as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1 Click the Greeting line button tip: If the greeting button is not available, you need to click the Select Recipient button in the Start Mail Merge group and select the appropriate recipient list. Step 2nd Opens the Insert Greeting dialog box, which defaults to dear in the greeting format prefix edit box, where the user can enter his or her own content (such as "Dear"), and the ending symbol can select a comma or a colon. In the preview location you can see the greeting effect that was eventually inserted into the letter, as shown in Figure 2.

Figure 2 The Insert Greeting dialog box tip: If the item displayed in the default greeting is not appropriate and needs to be canceled or modified (for example, if you need to cancel the title of the "General Manager" item), you can click the Match field button in the Insert Greeting dialog box, as shown in Figure 3.

Figure 3 Click the Match Fields button to open the Match Fields dialog box, click the Drop-down triangle button for the item you want to modify, and select the "Do not match" option to cancel the item to be displayed in the greeting. Complete the settings by clicking the OK button as shown in Figure 4.
