0. Initial screen, click "Create a New Virtual machine" (on the left Ubuntu for I have developed the environment, please ignore)

1. Click "Custom"

After the Vsan is created, the guest operating system installation are automated and VMware Tools is installed. " I think it's because of the automatic installation of the OS, incomplete, some of the core commands can not be used, no response and other problems. So there are higher requirements of the classmate, can not choose this, requires a complete, customized installation.

Note: Here is a bit of my experience is very important need to explain, using "NAT", you need to use a line outside the WIN7 to connect to the Internet in Ubuntu (like Ubuntu is your real os feeling, do not need to configure any IP information), not the default wireless connection. 13. The storage address of the virtual machine file, choose the location of the D-Drive.

15. After completion, you can see the upper left corner of the "Ubuntu 12.04", do not rush power on, not installed Ubuntu ...

17. Start the virtual machine, click "Power on this" in step 15, then Ubuntu 12.04 starts the installation, select the language first, then click "Install Ubuntu"

18. If you select "Download updates while installing" To install the latest update directly for the installation process, select "Install this third-party software" to install third-party software

19. Select "Something Else", the virtual machine will be a 20G hard disk to do manual partitioning (of course, I can not manually partition, I did not manually partition the installation, the following reference to others article)

20. Click "New Partation Table" (Create new partition)

21. In the Popup dialog box, select "Contunie"

22. Select the new "Free Space" and click "Add"

23. Note in the "Primary", "Beginning", "Ext4 ..." are the default, do not need to modify, the number is the size, in megabytes (note: Do not pursue 1024 rounding, the hard disk is actually not rounding up ...) ), select 10000=10g in the last "Mount point" drop-down list, select "/", complete the step, click "OK"

24. Once again select "Free space" (same as Step 22), click "Add", note "Logical", "Beginning" are the default, the size of the choice of 1G; select "Swap area" in the drop-down list of use as. Note: The final drop-down list is gray, meaning swap area does not have to select a mount point, complete the step, click "OK"

Note: The order of the three partitions does not change, because/home in the end it is convenient to select "Remaining space" by default and avoid manual assignment.

26. At this point, all partition work has been completed as shown in. Note: If you are not satisfied, you can click "Revert" to repartition until satisfied and correct. If you're satisfied, click "Install Now"

It is important to note that because the automatic installation is not used, our virtual machines now do not contain VM tools, cause problems such as full-screen virtual machines and so on, and need to install VM tools.
